Classically Comfortable

It's time for another Mom Fashion moment.  I like to be comfortable now that I have kids.  No more uncomfortable shoes or outfits because they look amazing.  Mobility is at the speed my bomb shoes allow. Nope, those days are gone.   If I can't run, juggle, or lift a small elephant while wearing it, it has no place in my wardrobe.  Sadly this leaves me with a lot of less than adorable outfits.  I have been trying to reclaim a little of my style without hindering my "mom" game. 

Mom Fashion Moment

Sometimes, I look in the mirror and see a mom who once took a little pride in how they look. Outfit used to be on point, make-up painstakingly applied, bag and shoes matching, all of it assembled with the ease that the time a person has sans kids.  Now, most days, its messy buns/rats-nest shoved into a rubber band, socks and shoes of the slip on variety (which may not be matching because who really has time to search for matching pairs), yoga pants, and one of my husbands old shirts that, with luck, doesn't have a hole in an odd spot. Let's face it, as a mom, most days are the roll out of bed and go type of days.

Masquerade Photo's

How fun is the pictures during Halloween?!!  I love all the fun things we get to make, pretend, and explore during Halloween!  This is the time of year I hear the most “take a picture of me” coming from the kids.  The dress-up bins are always out and imaginations are flying freely.  So, to help the kids have a blast and increase the fun photo’s we decided to make masquerade masks for pictures!

Tis' the season to get Hoppy!  Why not let your little one expel some of the energy from those baskets with a few hops of their own?  First, they will need a pair of ears to get into the part!  Let's go make some!

 I don't know about you, or honest where they come from most of the time, but my daughter has a ton of things for her hair.  She has more than I do and she is only 3!  So, where in the world do you put them all?  She loves to put them in at random so it has to be someplace where I can easily put them back and she can easily take them down for her hair.  Thus, we introduce my latest review: 

Reindeer Head!

Kids love to wear crazy hats!  Why not indulge them; after all it is the Christmas season!  To make it even more special, let them add their personal touch to the hat by making it themselves! Put on the Christmas tunes and pull out the craft supplies!

Brave Helmet Head

Sometimes, we get a little Brave.  The kids at the daycare have been talking a lot about this movie lately. While, we haven't seen it, it is now a big deal.  So, I had to get creative and Brave to help their imaginations come to life! Ready to get Brave with me on this craft?

Halloween Masks!

Halloween is the perfect time of year for us to explore the scary, gross, beautiful, or just plain alternative side of ourselves.  Our kids get to dress up and pretend they can conquer the world!  Why not have a masquerade party this year for the kids!  Let them dress up!  Let them eat silly foods that resemble gross things!  Let them make their own masks to wear!

Pant Leg Vest

What to do with those old pants?  Maybe you lost weight, maybe you just don't like the style but those old pants can really take up room in your drawer.  Why not make some dress up clothes with them?  How about a cool Vest?

I don't know about you, but getting your hair done takes time and money and often, if you dye yours, this can not only take a toll on your pocket book, but on your hair.  So, not only do you have to fork over the cash for the hair appointment, but you need a good hair product.  If you are me, you cut and color your own hair leaving the money for a good product.  I recently received a great leave-in conditioner for the at home stylist or those who go to the salon!  Check out my Review of the Shielo Antioxidant Leave in Conditioner!

I love crafting and cooking with the kids.  Recently, I have become obsessed with aprons and would love to have some for myself, but since often the kids bear the brunt of their messes its best to start by looking at getting a few for them first.  Luckily I was sent a child's apron to review.  It is by shop owner and designer Jordan Dene.

Garter Fun!

The second piece of sexy that I decided to create stemmed off of the duster which reminded me of a sexy maid costume.   I pulled out the movie “Clue” for inspiration. Whatever her name was came on screen and I realized that every sexy anything you see, maid, lingerie, etc, have a garter!  Let me see, I have scraps of fabric, bows, elastic, and thread in my craft supplies!  Oh, joy I can do this too! 

Now, I hate sewing so this was not my favorite to make, but it turned out super cute!

Window Shopping for Me!

The other day I was browsing the web for designer duds for the kids and found some adorable outfits.  Today, it's my turn!  I never really go shopping for myself, which is why I'm still wearing size 10 jeans on a size 6/8 body.  I, like you, am a mom and we just don't always have the time to put into ourselves like we used to, diapers, constantly looking at our kids pants and saying when did those pants become Capri's, and kids suddenly in belly shirts often keep us away from the Misses section.  Today, was different!  Today, I took a moment to look and dream of some designer duds for me!!!

Last, but not least...Maraca's!!

Add a little flare with this working instrument!  All kids love noise so making a few working maraca’s will definitely please your crowd!  It is almost as good as a cow bell! Kids love making noise and this will allow them to create how they make that noise!

Let’s relive our own childhood and bring back the 80’s style with a pretend keyboard!  We already had the air-guitar and now we can help our kids bring to style the air keyboard using this fun cardboard keyboard!

Video games are so popular that they are fast replacing board games.  You don’t see kids as often sitting down for a great game of chess or life.  Now, you see them sitting in front of the TV to play a game that involves trying to kill each other in a brutal way.  A lovely switch don’t you think?  Why not get inspired by the games out their now and come up with a way to bring out the kids natural creativity and imagination!?
