Under the Sea: The Octopus and Me!
School is in session and let the kiddie crafting begin! To explore some of the fun places people go in the summer why not learn about some under the sea animals?! What might you see if you lived under the sea? What do you see at an aquarium? What sea creature has the most legs that you've seen? All are great questions to spark learning and crafting is a great way to back up those valuable lessons and explore problem solving with a dash of creativity!

Remembering Our History
It seems fitting to me that today we take a moment to think of those in our lives that we have lost and those who have lead us to where we are today. If you are like me, you fall into a category where someone in your family is into genealogy. Chances are they randomly update you about your family tree and some bit of history with which you are connected via your bloodline. Normally you listen and appreciate their efforts only to forget the tidbit a few days later. Today though I was thinking about all the stories that my family members must have had as many served in the military going all the way back to Civil War. Tidbits of their service and small tokens found to give us a glimpse of their story, but the story itself is lost. It's a shame to have so much lost as history, both personal and as a population can teach us great things. It can show us how to fail, how to succeed, and how to live just by the outcome of the actions people took.

Fall Tree Handprints
Fall is such a great time to make memories. Football games, sweaters, hot cocoa, apple picking, pumpkins, falling leaves, the list of ways to make memories goes on and on. So, what about those days when going outside to make a few fall memories isn't possible? Why not make some inside that you can bring out each year? Thursday, July 9, 2015

2 Longest Lasting Super Bright Rim Lights - Personalized LED Colorful Wheel Lights Review
It is hot in AZ, but we haven't quite gotten the night light hours yet. So, to keep things cool we go outside early in the day and then again late in the evening. This way we still get the outside time and some Vit. D, but don't get burned in the process. The problem is that the kids want to ride their bikes and I don't trust other people to slow down on a cul-de-sac. For this reason we teach the kids to get on the side walk when ever they see a car at all, but I also want to make sure the cars see them. So, reflectors on the tires, and light colored bikes help, but why not add a little more?

Protecting the family legally!
It's that time of the year, before the holiday's gear up and as summer ends, to update the families legal protective documents. It isn't fun or exciting to think about, but it is our responsibility as parents to make sure these documents are in order. Where do you start?

Home-Made Baby Food Containers
I made the food for my babies for a lot of reasons. It not only cut down my grocery bill, but I could combine what they like and leave out what they don't, plus I could easily change the thickness of the food based on age and what they were able to handle without wasting a bunch of food or having to thicken it, it also makes it easier to feed them organic or home grown veggie's, and you can add your own spices based on your culture/preference/or allergy restrictions/allowances. In my previous post, that I told how to make baby food HERE and HERE, I used pre-bought baby food jars, but I recently found a product that would be perfect for those of you/us making your own baby food, check these out!

A Shut Up Sighting at Beatty's in Miller Canyon AZ
On the way back to Madera Canyon during our weekend away in April we decided to stop by some of our favorite birding spots. Our first stop was to Beatty's. We had heard about a Spotted Owl and wanted to see for ourselves. We stopped by the store and asked directions to the bird. We then paid our donations, which for all the work they do is too little if you ask me and I can say that with the feeders we own, then headed off to find the bird. We made sure to be quiet and not to disturb this beauty when we finally found him.

Spring brings more than just flowers!
Spring brings so much in the air. It carries change, hope, and new blooms. It also seems to bring with it the desire t have a bloom of their own in women. I'm not sure why but maybe its the warm sun after a long winter or all the beautiful romantic flowers that does it, but this tends to be the time of year I hear about people talking about starting a family.
