Kids love to wear crazy hats! Why not indulge them; after all it is the
Christmas season! To make it even more
special, let them add their personal touch to the hat by making it themselves!
Put on the Christmas tunes and pull out the craft supplies!
You need:
Brown paper,
A puff ball
Markers, paint, or stickers
Scissors
Tape
Contact paper
Start by having them decorate the brown paper with markers,
paint, stickers or all three! Have them
do both sides. Once decorated, let dry
if needed. Now, using a black marker or
pen, trace the child’s hand about 3 inches above the bottom of the paper. Draw a straight line from either side of the
end of the hand measuring 3 inches from the bottom every inch or so. Now, cut along the line including the child’s
hand. From the opposite side measure a 3
inch line and cut. Using tape, attach
the 3 inch strips together. Measure
around the child’s head, so the hand cut out is in the front, and tapes the
strips together to fit. Now, glue on a
puff ball for a nose and draw two black circles for eyes. Cover in contact paper to make it last longer
and you are all set to let your little one frolic with the other reindeer in
her cool new hat!
