Recycled Bones!

I am always looking for ways to keep the kids busy, maybe learn a little bit in the process, and making a holiday decoration is always a bonus.  So, what do you do when you have kids with busy fingers at home?  Raid the recycle bin and make a fun friend!

We decided to make a spooky skeleton!  We found all sorts of fun items in the recycling that could become the bones of our scary friend.  Pulling out the paint and some string we were all set to built.  I handed the kids the paint and some of the recycled items and had them get started while I cut out and shaped other items for our bones.

Once the kids were done decorating each piece of the skeleton I poked holes in them and strung them together with some string.
A two liter made the perfect skeleton head!
A cut apart egg crate made the perfect rib cage!
The limbs were made from toilet roles and cut up egg crates!
We could even make them fingers with a few snips of the scissors.
The spine was a combination of toilet roles and left over egg crate parts.
Our pelvis was the lid of an egg crate!
Two legs and some funny feet to end our freind!
Toes and all!
Now our spooky friend can greet our guests by hanging outside to greet them!
So, this season look no further than your recycle bin and your kids imagination for ways to creep out your house!  Enjoy each moment with them and always look no further than what you have to create amazing moments with your mini's!
