Pinecone Ornament

Sometimes, putting the pine-cones back on a tree is a great idea! I love getting the kids involved and making the home more colorful with something out of their own mind!  So, we went out and gathered some lonely fallen pine-cones to take home.  The kids loved rescuing the fallen pine-cones.
We took them home and let them dry by putting them in the oven for 15 minutes at 325.  Once cooled we pulled out the paint shirts.
We live in Arizona, so the kids wanted to use white for snow!

They loved to paint the pine-cones white and when we were done they said these are the fluffiest snowflakes we've ever seen!  Funny thing is, other then on TV, I'm not sure another snowflake has actually ever been seen by any thing is, still a child's imagination is an amazing thing!

You can add glue to your paint and sprinkle on glitter if you want or just leave them as is.  Tie a string on the top and hang it from your tree for a kid created ornament!  Write down the jems like I mentioned about in your Kid's Journal! And have a kid created holiday this year!
