Pamper your Plants with some at home treats!

Pamper your Plants this growing season with a few tricks to help them grow and be healthy.  It's almost time to plant your garden in Arizona as we ease out of the hot summer and into our version of winter.  Here are some tricks that you can do with household items that will help them grow this year.  Try them for yourself, but keep in mind; I am one of those who manages to get flowers that shouldn't grow, but can't keep alive the plants that should!

Take the egg shell halves and poke a hole in the bottom, fill with soil and put the seed in your mini planter, now place into the hole and cover with soil.  Boosts the health and strengthens your plant with the added calcium.

Rinse off your egg shells and crumble them, put them into the ground around your cucumbers to infuse calcium in the cucumbers and have a natural fertilizer.  Bonus on the added calcium in your diet when you eat the cucumber!

Mix 1 cup sugar, 3 cups bone meal, and 1 cup epsom salt; sprinkle into the bottom of the hole your putting your bulb in an then plant your bulb.  This will help the plant root and stay healthy while it get's started on it's life in your garden!

Mix 3 cuups compost, 1/2 cup poswered nonfat milk, 1/2 cup Epsom Salt, 1 Tbsp baking soda, 1/4 cup sugar; sprinkle in the hole of your new tomatoe plant for a brighter and sweeter tomato.

Rose Tonic: 2tbsp of your favorite instant tea, 1 tbsp red wine, 1/2 fish emulsion, 1 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp iron (you can find at most garden centers), stir into 1 gallon bucket of warm water and use this to water your Roses!  Helps them stay healthy and bright!

What are your plant boosting tips?
