La Bella Stella by Recess Music, A Children's Music Review by Kat's Cafe
It was another Moody adventure when the mini-Moodys and I sat down to listen to La Bella Stella, by Recess Music.
Do you know what the best thing about listening to children’s music is? You get to be a kid again and you get to see something through your own kids’ eyes at the same time.
Listening to the sweet tunes of such songs as “Nature’s Lullaby” and “Pluto,” my guys were struck by the sweet melodies and hopping beat of this great mix of songs that entertained as well as they educated.
Of course, the songs were still interrupted by my Bobby, who can always be counted on to ask a million questions about even the best mix of music these guys have listened to since we did a family jam to the Beatles music saved to our i-Tunes account *grin*
I jumped around as we listened to the music, and we took many breaks.
Andy’s biggest complaint?
The music was out to get him, he says, because he felt like going to sleep while listening to several of the songs. Bobby, though, he was in heaven … each song answered questions he hadn’t thought to ask yet!

From a Mom’s perspective, La Bella Stella was the Perfect Kids’ CD

As I’ve said before, my guys have a love for music. It speaks to them in ways that we haven’t been able to yet.
With Logan this was made clear as the child who never sits still did, and listened, and smiled. He listened and smiled – something about the strains of the song Pluto, by group Rochnoceros, made him especially happy, as I think he could have listened to that song over and over again and never grown tired of it.
This music CD spoke to something deep within each of my special little men, and they each found something to enjoy about it, and satisfied their curiosity about this world a bit in the process.
As a mom of kids with special needs, I’m hooked. I’ve started putting the pennies aside to buy the rest of the series as soon as I can – the guys enjoyed these songs so much.

From Recess Music, the Celebrate Earth Series Gives Back as it Educates & Entertains

Recess Music Celebrate Earth Music Series
I think any company that makes kids its priority is a company to admire, and it really is apparent that Recess Music knows kids, it understands them, and it appeals to them. Other titles in their Celebrate Earth Series explore subjects like the earth, oceans, wild animals and even vegetables. There other titles cover hard-hitting topics like bullying.
Yes, they entertain kids, but the educate them too. And they do it in a way that doesn’t scream “educate me!” I know that Brandilyn, over at the Building Carpenters blog was impressed with the educational value, and she’s a homeschoolin’ mom who really gets the importance of sliding in the education with the entertainment.
In her review of the CD, Abby, of Mommy Moments with Abby, suggested coupling it with  a book appropriate for your child’s development on the solar system in her review of La Bella Stella. I love that idea! My book fans would have appreciated me thinking of something so wise. *coughs*
Pam, over at Mom Does Reviews, was almost more excited to listen to the CD than her son was (we’ll forgive her – it was a great CD for moms too!), but she was most impressed with the fact that they donate a portion of their proceeds to charity. In Pam’s review of La Bella Stella, she notes that they donate to the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center in Concord, New Hampshire, where her son went on a recent field trip!
