We all have our battles. A few years ago I wrote about one I went through with a lipoma. It left me with a nasty scar after the site was opened up. To, this is my new battle, trying to make this scar look a little better. We all have scars, some are just more visible than others and some can be healed until they are barely visible. Others like this one are uglier than what caused them!!
Mommy Moments with Abby's review of Derma Roller 1.5mm: So, as you can see by the above photo my scar is not attractive. I have been putting cremes on it for years now with little to no luck. Why not try this, it seems to have a valid pattern of thought behind it. First roll this across the area 10 times sideways and the up and down, then 10 times again at a diagonal from each side. The needles help create pores for cremes to be absorbed deeper and the creation of these pours will draw the bodies natural defenses geared to healing scratches and such to the area. Hopefully this will increase the chances of the scar to heal.
It is not the most pleasant sensation in the world to do this, but it only lasts ten seconds or less each way. After that I noticed it was slightly itchy at the spot, but that is normal for something healing (think of a scab that is healing, tends to get a bit itchy). After applying this to my scar I rubbed in some scar creme. So far I have noticed by scar feels less rubbery. It still looks horrible, but the texture of it seems to be changing and it has been a few weeks of use. I hope this will result in continued changes in my scar. Even if all it does is make the scar feel softer than I will be happy.
Now, the cleaning of this can be a little time consuming, but is simple. But, if you want to keep yourself safe from any needles a little cleaning is best. First pour at least 75% alcohol into the storage container, than run hot water over it after about 10 minutes of the alcohol soak. Allow it to air dry before putting it away for storage. Don't forget you are soaking it!
Before I use this I wiped the area using it on with alcohol to prevent any bacteria's already on my skin from getting into my skin.
