Cave Tools Digital Meat Thermometer

Springtime means time to dust off the old BBQ! One thing I know is that BBQ time means I can make dinner for a week in one sitting! Plus, there is a BBQ method I've always wanted to try, but haven't because I lacked the tools to make sure that everything was cooked properly!

Mommy Moments with Abby's review of Cave Tools Digital Meat Thermometer: So, first I made sure to marinate some steak, shrimp, chicken, vegetables, and then pulled out some sausages to thaw. Then, I got out my tools to turn my Kettle BBQ into a smoker. I got my metal pan for the water, water, coals, wood that I soaked in water. I used my hot gloves, metal tongs, and the Meat Thermometer. I put my coals in two piles. One I lit on fire, the other I stacked in a pyramid to one side of the grill. Once the fire died down and left the heated coals, I moved the hot coals onto the pyramid as well. I placed the damp wood on top of this stack of coals. Now, you can either place your pan of water to the side of the coals or on the grill itself directly above the coal stack. I put mine above the coal stack on the grill. From here I arranged my meat on the bottom with the thinnest slices farthest from the coals and the thickest closest to the pan of water. On my second rack I put my foal bowls with the shrimp and the veggies. Then I left it. Living in Arizona my thermometer on the grill itself can sometimes be off and knowing if your meat is cooking at proper temperatures is imperative when smoking meat. You have to make sure to kill any bacteria's that meat has by cooking it at regulated temps for extended periods of time to ensure safety. This is why I've never tried smoking meat before. After about an hour I checked the meat to make sure it was cooking at the proper temperatures. Other than checking the meat I could just let it all cook. The thermometer was simple to use, turn it on, stick it in the meat, give it a few seconds, check the temp, and adjust your cooking accordingly. I really loved how this one clips on my shirt like a pen so I don't have to worry about it falling into anything when I'm adjusting things on the grill and can grab it quickly to take the temp! It was easy to wipe off for cleaning and in the end my meat looked delicious! My favorite part.... Smoked food for at least a week, maybe two!

    1. Important to keep it with while preparing meat dishes. A good help as you know exact temperature for the dish to be prepared.
