Mommy Moments with Abby's review of The Magic of the Moment: Hugo our favorite starfish is at it again. On a journey of understanding that is easily relate-able for children. This time it is about discovering how to appreciate life. I love how he explains hard to understand concepts and emotions such as "present" and not the kind you get at a party. Honestly their are some adults that may need this version of the definition explained to them, but that would be for another book. As he goes along in this book he receives some magical gifts that keep disappearing which helps him understand "The Magic of the Moment". He has to face an assortment of emotions regarding the gifts and their temperary presence. Through this he must find the time to use and appreciate the presents while he has them since he only has a short period of time with them. It is a great way to teach children to appreciate what they have and to understand that most things aren't permanent. We really enjoyed the book a lot and the kids love to see what Hugo is getting into next!
