Hugo Happy Starfish- One Step at a Time ebook Review

I love books that have great messages for kids.  One series that we have been review and love at the daycare is the Hugo Happy Starfish.  The kids love to hear about this little guys adventures and see all the other sea creatures he meets.  We were very excited to check out the latest adventure for little Hugo!
Mommy Moments with Abby's review of Hugo Happy Starfish-One Step at a Time ebook:  I started by downloading it from Amazon using my Kindle Cloud program.  We pulled the book up and began our journey.  The kids all were excited yelling, "Starfish, Starfish"!  They were very excited when the huge Sting Ray came onto the page/screen.  They thought that is was very cool how Hugo kept dreaming and trying to find the mountain to climb.  I made sure to talk about how learning something hard can sometimes feel like your climbing a big mountain, but if you keep trying like Hugo than eventually you can get to the top!  The kids loved the story and pulled out their other Hugo books to re-read.  Naturally, because a chocolate wrapper started Hugo's story, the kids asked for chocolate for snack!
I found this book to be a great conversation starter on many different topics.  You could talk about the importance of not littering and how the liter can damage the environment.  You can talk about a struggle they've been having and the power of hope and perseverance.  You could talk about the animals themselves and explore the under water would.  It was a great conversation starter and a question driver for the kids.  I really enjoy this book and the whole series of Hugo the Happy Starfish books!
