July 14, 2012 Chiricahua's and the Keller Vineyard

We woke in the morning and drove around the Chiricahua's showing the in-laws.  We showed them the spot we have camped at, the area the Flame-Colored Tanager had been seen,  Rustler's park to show them the damage, the area where we spotted the Short-tailed Hawk, an area we were told the Elegant Trogon had been seen, and the miles to University of South Carolina sign!  From here we headed home.
We stopped in Wilcox for lunch and my mother in law and I popped into a local Vineyard to do a wine tasting while the husbands minded the dogs and kids.  It was fun to sample more Arizona wines and I learned that a large company had just purchased the old Apple Factory in town and would be converting it to brew the local grapes so vineyards in the area would be able to keep everything including bottling local!  We tried 3 wines and my favorite had to be the Muscat Canelli.  A white wine that goes down smooth with slightly fruity undertones that didn't go against the taste of meat or interfere with a light sauce.  The wine glass was ours to keep and if we had had the time we would have gotten the discount that comes with the glass!  It was a fun mother-in-law, daughter-in-law outing and the perfect end to a family vacation.
