We drove up Carr Canyon, but due to road conditions had to stop and turn around as the 4 door sedan isn't made for terrain that rocky. We decided to go back down and park near Carr Canyon House. We sadly noticed that none of the feeders were out. We walked past and headed down a trail. It started sprinkling on and off.
It seemed many of the birds had opted for shelter with the on again off again rain.
We did, however spot this Hutton's Vireo!
Tending to it's nest it constantly was darting this way and that looking for food to give it's chick!
It performed acrobatics along the lines of what I have done myself while running the daycare.
Avoiding this obstacle that obstacle, and not caring if it got a little rain on it while on it's mission.
All parents have performed a leap like this to avoid something in their path!
After a while, we headed back to the car and down the road back to Ash Canyon. Only this time, to visit Mary Jo's to search once again for the Lucifer.
