I love doing kids yoga. I make a point to do it with the kids 2-3 days a week and they seem to love it. I was very excited when asked to do a kid's yoga review. I post so much about the yoga poses the kids and I do, it's about time I offer up a review of Storyland Kids Yoga DVD.
Here is my review:
I started by offering to the kids a choice to do the DVD or do a yoga flow. As expected their curiosity ruled out and we put it in. They enjoyed listening to the story being told that went with the poses. The one the pictures are of is the "Condor Trek". The DVD has 2 stories/flows on it to pick from “Save the Whale” and “Condor Trek”. Lately, we have been talking about birds so the kids picked the Condor Trek. They got to talk about eggs, had to walk through a pretend woods, and got to be different animals.
My one year old got in on the yoga flow!
They loved soaring through the air, meeting wizards, and going through a land of pretend with each pose.
And just like we do they end their flow with a touch of their toes
then reaching for the sun!
The kids loved it and the postures fit the story and gave them a good workout. I recommend working on the poses individually if you have a beginner and doing them with the kids for a workout of your own! I give this a full Salutation to the Sun for both entertaining kids, giving me a chance to workout, and expanding the imagination all at once!
