I love tea and am a big fan of green tea for both the energy boost and the anti-oxidant boost. I love to treat myself with those Starbucks Green Tea Frappacino's however who has time with 3 kids to make a Starbucks run? Maybe if it had a drive through, but going in and out just for a Frap is just to much to justify the trip for me. So, when I saw a chance to test a product that would allow me to make my own Green Tea cold blend, I couldn't see a downside.
Mommy Moments with Abby's review of Organic Matcha- Green Tea Powder: First of all lets get out the benefits since I know many of you are interested in the health benefits. Green Tea is known for it's anti-oxidant boost which is why I like it. This brand also sites having skin boost, metabolism boost, and a boost in your focus. I do know that green tea is associated with boosting metabolism, but haven't used enough of this for long enough to be able to substantiate the claim. So, I'll say all these are possible.
Now, for the part that I really like, how I used this product. I collected my ingredients and blender. I poured in my sample of the Green Tea Powder, 5 or 6 ice cubes, 1 1/2 cup of Vanilla Soy Milk, and 1 tsp of Vanilla Extract. I blended it to my hearts content, then settled in and sipped away. I will not say whether or not I added a fattening dollop of whipped cream to the top, but I will say my final product was heavenly. The color was a little more yellow than green, but this is probably from the Vanilla Extract and the Soy Milk I added to the Green Tea Powder. I recommend using a blender or shake mixing container as when I originally tried to use a spoon to pre-mix the powder and milk it ended up a little chunky and thus chalky. Once I blended it however it was smooth. It may not have been Starbucks, but it was good and hit my craving spot! Check it out and see what you think!
