Green Clean!

Over the past several years, the general public has become extremely concerned with the state of the environment. Many organizations have sprung up advocating people to adopt a green lifestyle. In other words, more people are environmentally conscious now than at any other point in human history. One of the results of this has been people shying away from using harmful chemicals to clean their homes. The public is now looking for green alternatives to effectively clean their home and help Mother Nature at the same time. Here are some ways that you can accomplish this.

1. Furniture

If you want to give your furniture an attractive sparkle and shine, you do not need to buy pricey furniture polish. Start out by mixing three parts vegetable oil with one part lemon juice. This all-natural concoction can be applied directly to the furniture by using a cloth that is soft. Let the solution stay on the furniture for several minutes. You can then wipe it off using a dry cloth. This mixture should never be used to clean wooden floors, only furniture.

2. Clogged drains

There are a wide variety of chemicals available to unclog drains. Unfortunately, all of them contain harsh chemicals that are horrible for the environment. To unclog your drain by using a green method, start by pouring a quarter cup of vinegar into your drain. Follow that with a quarter cup of baking soda. Let both of these sit for a minimum or 20 minutes. Once this time has elapsed, boil a pot of water and pour it into the drain. Afterwards, continue to run warm water into your drain.

3. Carpeting

When you want your carpets and rugs to be cleaned in a way that is totally friendly to the environment, you can hire green carpet cleaners Washington DC. They have the necessary equipment and chemicals to make sure that all of your tough stains are removed without using any harsh chemicals.

4. Unpleasant odors

If you have some bad smells in your home that are lingering, such as the smells caused by pets or smoking, you can use the following methods to eliminate them. Use vinegar water to simmer some whole cloves. Put some cinnamon and orange peels into the water and allow it to settle. This will create a soothing aroma throughout your home. Houseplants are another way to freshen the air in your home naturally.
