Who loves to learn? We do we do! Who has a flash card drawer? We do we do! Who has some new cards added to it? We do we do!
Mommy Moments with Abby's review of School Zone's Alphabet Flash Cards: We are always looking for new ways to help the kids grow their minds. One area that needs to be addressed for all kids before they get to Kindergarten is the Alphabet. There are a lot of flash cards out there, but the trick is to find flashcards that show both the uppercase and then a card for the lowercase letters.
A lot of times I will get kids who know all the uppercase, but have no idea what letter is what when they are in lowercase. Teaching both at the same time allows for the duality of upper and lowercase to exist in their minds from the start. Trying to explain to a 3 year old that the lowercase letter is in fact the same letter as the uppercase can be difficult and take longer for them to learn because of the confusion.
I was really happy to see the upper and lower case separated out on their own cards for me to present at the same lesson for the kids. This provides me the ability to offer the letters as being the same yet different in a this is what it is format instead of trying to teach one then add on the other. I've noticed this has allowed for both cases to catch on with the kids at the same time. This will help me as they work on their writing skills and we start mastering writing their names with an uppercase first letter and the rest lowercase.
