Cook'n Recipe Organizer Review

I don't know about you but creating a meal plan or finding a recipe is a nightmare when running a daycare and raising kids.  Whether you work out of the home or as a full time mom the recipes hunt can be time consuming and annoying.  Luckily for me, I was asked to review a Recipe Software program.

I was unsure of how this would work from me because their is the initial set up of all your old recipes is time consuming.  To be honest, this is true no matter how they set up the program because you're family recipe cards, brochures with recipes, paper magazines that you cut the recipes out of still need to be physically typed in and entered. There is unfortunately no way around it, you have to take the time to sit down and enter them in, to my dismay their is not a system yet that will just absorb what I want or need it to.  That said, all of my favorites or bookmarked recipes online were easily captured into the program.  All I did was copy the url, paste in the search, select, and click capture than save!  Best thing is that I could enter my personal changes into the saved recipe for future use.

The program comes with a cookbook of its own full of recipes to help start your collection if you're just starting to cook.  Most of the online recipes you find are capture-able making those magazine tear outs easier to enter saving even more time.  Their is even a menu program that works on a daily, weekly, and monthly schedule.  It will show you the nutritional details for easier dieting and weight control, plus it has a list option for easier grocery shopping.

I have years of recipes, so I'm still manually entering the ones written on paper, but within a day while running a daycare was able to capture all my online saved recipes entering my personal touches along the way.  Until someone comes up with a way to have a computer just absorb paper information entering personal recipes is this systems main downfall, but having all my online recipe finds plus all my favorite recipes in one spot where searching for what I want is twiddled down to the click of a button and the typing of keywords is the best cooking organizational tool that a mother can ask for.  You can make your computer cookbook cute with downloadable themes, plus check the newsletter for awesome additional recipes that you just click the "add to Cook'n" button, save to the Cook'n files download file, accept the download being integrated into the existing cookbook and you're done!  All in all I give this product a must buy for all my chefs, busy moms willing to put in upfront work for easier meal planning later, and foodies!  I really love this product and give it 5 out of 5 apron strings!  Here is a coupon code for 50% off the latest edition of Cook'n Recipe Organizer Software: mb-abby.

Now, I haven't downloaded any additional cookbooks from their online site yet, but I did look through them and noticed that they had a few that literally cost a dollar and others that cost 20.00.  Downloading a cookbook directly to an existing program just increases you're menu options!  I also saw where you can order recipe cards, which make perfect dinner party guest gifts!  These are the product options that I didn't use and would love to hear about your experiences with them in your comments below!
