Movement Story/Kids Yoga DVD and Flashcard Reviews
We love to do yoga at my daycare. I'm always looking for new tools to use with the kids to help in their yoga journeys. We usually do our yoga on days where the weather prohibits us from getting out outside play in, little bodies need to release that energy somehow! Check out the latest yoga tool I'm adding to my collection!
Mommy Moments with Abby's Review of Movement Story/Kids Yoga DVD's and Flashcards: We received the Magic Scooter adventures DVD's and associated flash cards. The kids were really excited to try them out.
Their were captivated from the classroom setting the yoga was viewed in. This way they were able to see the teacher and the kids translate the movements and poses for them to copy. It can sometimes make it easier for a child if they get to see how their peers are doing something along with how an adult does it. Their bodies are smaller and still learning balance and movement, which can provide for longer transitions or different processes than an adult would make. I really appreciated this aspect of the DVD's.
The story was also a great one for kids since it involved magic! Getting to become a magical scooter was very exciting for the kids and they would giggle at each other trying to "ride" the scooter. It was a great way to bring a child's imagination into choreographed movement activities. I found the kids even laying longer than expected in Savasanna at the end, showing them how to practice calm and patience. If you enjoy yoga and are looking to introduce or practice with your little one, I really enjoy the structure and display of the movement DVD's and corresponding flashcards. Using the flashcards before and after the DVD allowed for key poses and points to be re-affirmed with the kids.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
