FatCats Review

We wanted to have one final fun filled day before my daughter started her first day of school.  One of our favorite things to do as a family is to go bowling.  So, we headed out to the newest place to bowl, FatCats.  Check out our trip!

Gilbert has a FAT CATS!!!!

This is right in my neck of the woods!  Or at least it is until we move so I'm thinking I may just have to check it out with the littles! So, what in the world am I talking about? Well, we have a FatCats in Gilbert now!  FatCats is a family entertainment center! They have 5 centers located in Utah, Colorado and Idaho with a brand new center coming soon to Gilbert, Arizona!!

It is with great sadness that we disclose the untimely passing of our rescued green sea turtle, Frye. Frye had many long-term health issues and unfortunately succumbed to his injuries last week. Unable to live in the wild, Frye was given a second chance at SEA LIFE and brought many magical moments to our guests. We welcome your favorite Frye photos and memories.

Disney's Princess and Pirate Excitement!

We went to see Disney's Princess and Pirate show.  It was packed!  There were kids everywhere and they were all excited to see their favorite characters.  Many of the kids, and adults, were dressed up!  My daughter wanted to dress up as Sophia, so I found her a flower-girl dress off ebay to wear.  She loved it!  We did her hair, she got to wear lip-gloss and paint her nails, she got to bring her furry jacket, she got to wear her bracelet and her purple necklace, plus her fancy shoes and she was in total Sophia the First mode!  My son allowed me to put strips on him, but that was the extend of his dress up.

I found this amazingly beautiful girl outside today!  If I didn't already have 3 furbabies I would be hoarding her cuddles for myself.  She is fawn colored with amber colored eyes.  I would guess around 3 or 4?  She is short but wide and I would put her about 45lbs.  She is amazingly sweet to people, haven't tested with my dogs.  She does seem to have recently given birth.  She had no collar and no tags.  I need help finding a rescue or foster person to help keep her out of the shelter.  It would be even better to find her a permanent home, but I know that takes time.  If you know anyone or have room for this girl please email me at mommymomentswithabby@yahoo.com!  If you don't, just spread the world and help me give this little wiggle bug the gift of life and happiness with a family she can cover in kisses and love!  Thanks so much for following and for anyone with the time and heart to help!

Killer Time at Kubo in Madera, AZ

The weekend of April 12-14 2013 we went down to Madera Canyon in Arizona.  We stayed at Madera Kubo, you can check out my review HERE.  It was a great place to stay.  While we took a day and headed South to Bisbee and then to the Miller Canyon area we really enjoyed checking out the birds in Madera Canyon as well.  We had some surprise sightings while staying at Madera, Kubo!

The weekend of April 12 through the 14th the hubby and I decided to take a much needed break.  My parents watched the kiddo's and fur-babies while he and I headed a few hours south.  We decided to book a room/cottage in one of the canyon's we like to hike in, Madera Canyon.  We were calling around and finding most the rooms booked for the weekend!  Luckily for us, the people at Madera Kubo, called us back to say they would be willing to let us stay in their recently renovated "Tree House".  They have a house they are slowly remodeling into places for people to stay.   It is unlike their normal adorable cabins, they built those from scratch themselves, as it is a property that is being remodeled.  I wasn't sure how to picture it, but having met the owners before and enjoying their feeders before decided to take the change and stay there.  My husband had reserves as it wasn't a cabin on their site and recently remodeled can mean a lot of different things.  Still off we went....

Elmo Review

Last Sunday we got the amazing chance to see one of my kids favorite shows on stage, Elmo!  As we pulled into the parking garage my daughter surprised me by asking if we were going to see the big red dog.  We had seen Clifford at the same Theater about a month ago and she remembered even the parking garage enough to ask!  I told her that he had gone home, but that we were going to see Elmo instead. We got there early and found our seats, the stage was all light up and so were the kids!

Clifford Review

On Saturday we treated the kids for being very well behaved by taking them to their first Theater production!  Naturally, it was a kids show, Clifford the Big Red Dog!  It was a live musical at the Comerica Theater in Phoenix.  Check out how it went!

Haboob

I never realized that living in Arizona would have me speaking and experiencing Arabic.  If you live here you know, and are potentially annoyed with the weather that has been spouting up lately.  Most move here for the easy winter months that hover between chilly and warm, feeling that the 3 months of extreme heat is an even exchange.  Most didn't plan on needing to invest in Swiffer!

July 14, 2012 Chiricahua's and the Keller Vineyard

We woke in the morning and drove around the Chiricahua's showing the in-laws.  We showed them the spot we have camped at, the area the Flame-Colored Tanager had been seen,  Rustler's park to show them the damage, the area where we spotted the Short-tailed Hawk, an area we were told the Elegant Trogon had been seen, and the miles to University of South Carolina sign!  From here we headed home.

Madera Canyon July 13, 2012

We stopped in at the Santa Rita Lodge for a pit stop on our family vacation.  Showing the in-laws the feeders we changed the kids and picked up some souvenirs/snacks/and drinks for the rest of the journey.  We love the Santa Rita Lodge and were happy to share it with the in-laws.  We managed to find a quick second to snap some great shots of the Black Headed Grosbeak one of many birds we ran into on our trip!!
